Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks
Conference: Northeast Iowa
Coach: Scott Giraud
Mascot: Go-Hawks
2017: 17-3, 4th place at team state
Waverly-Shell Rock finished the 2017 campaign with a 4th place finish at team state. 2017 also included the 3rd conference championship in four years, along with titles at the Cedar Falls early bird tournament and the Go-Hawk tournament. The Go-Hawks lost their #1 and #3 players from a year ago. 4-time state qualifier and state doubles champion Chelsea Poesch will be the toughest person to replace, but WSR has great depth that will help them have another successful season.

Schedule Analysis:
Key meets this year for the Go-Hawks will be their duals with Columbus and SE Polk, teams they have not faced very often if at all. The dual with Decorah is another date to look forward to as these are the two teams to battle it out with for the conference title. The conference tournament hosted by Luther College at the end of April is another day to look out for individual success.
Best Case Scenario: Another trip to Iowa City ending in a top 4 finish.
Worst Case Scenario: Having a difficult time overcoming the loss of a few key players, the Go-Hawks fail to make the state team quarterfinals.
