Boys Substate & Quarters

@ Johnston Ankeny Centennial vs Johnston Waukee vs Dowling This substate features 3 top 10 teams and it makes for a heck of a day for tennis tomorrow. Ankeny Centennial shouldn't have too much of a problem with Johnston. Waukee beat Dowling 6-3 (state scoring) in the regular season and I am going to expect the same type of performance again. I think Waukee is a deeper team at the moment. In the Quarters, Waukee and Ankeny Centennial will have a shot to reach the final four and I am going to go with Waukee in a close one.

Girls Individual Regionals

Tomorrow is the first day of individual postseason implications on the girls side with regionals. While team regionals are under way, state qualifiers will be decided by the end of tomorrow. Much like districts on the Boys side, individual regionals features 2 singles players and 2 doubles teams from each team. A doubles and singles draw is created and the winners/runner-ups advance to the individual state tournament. Lets take a look at some of the players to watch out for!

Districts Recap + Prelim Substate

First major day of post-season is complete and we are pushing forward. District team champions were crowned and individuals qualified for the state singles and doubles tournament. Let's take a look at some of the results from Districts and what Substate will provide for us.

2018 Girls Team Regionals

Here comes the busy part of the season, but arguably the most exciting time of the season. Yesterday on the Boys side, districts was completed and players have qualified for the individual state singles and doubles tournament as well as winning teams advancing to the substate rounds. Now? The Girls side is set to get rolling this weekend with the team regionals.

Power Rankings 5/8

Welcome to the last regular season Power Rankings! Boys Districts are tomorrow followed by preliminary substate this weekend. On the girls side, the last regular season duals are taking place this week in preparation for team regionals that begin this Saturday. I want to wish the best of luck to all teams as the 2018 post-season begins!

2018 Districts

2018 has brought a lot of ups and downs (i'm talking about you mother nature!) however, we are on the brink of the beginning of postseason! What an exciting time of the year. There has been great tennis all over the state this spring and now we will see what teams and individuals advance out of districts this Wednesday. Let's take a brief look at each district, and what teams and players we should watch out for.

Power Rankings 5/2

We are a week away from Post-season play! How 2018 has gone so fast, I don't know. I suppose the weather has had something to do with it making it difficult for tennis to happen across the state. Nonetheless, we have made it! Boys districts commence next week on the 9th, and the Girls team regionals begin on the 12th. I will do my best to get out some previews for districts and team regionals prior to the start of those next week. Right now, here are this weeks power rankings.
